mmmmm, I think I gotta problem.

I've saved a file with a bitmap (IFF) which has a mask generated. When I
reload the file, the mask is completely irregular now. It's supposed to be a
circle but it becomes a wierd shape. It is the same shape each time I do it. I
can clear the mask, regenerate it and it becomes a circle again, but when I
save & reload, it's gone back to the wierd shape.

Also, when trying to edit a document (well, the same one) by exporting to
Pageliner, when I save then quit, I just get a wiat pointer. I ran SnoopDos
but nothing appears to be happening. I waited half an hour but I still wasn't
able to get back to PGS 4.0r7 and had to reboot.

Are these problems related do you think, and does anyone have any idea what
might be going wrong?

Thanks.

I've played around with masks trying different combinations, and they
always reloaded just fine. Perhaps you could provide me with a before
document, steps to do to the document (ie, select graphic x, choose
generate mask, save, close, reopen) to reproduce the problem.

OK, I'll send it to you directly tomorrow -it's 12pm here right now.

Thanks for your help ;)

OK, I haven't tried every combination, but this one is reproducible every time
on my system.

Place a text frame on the page and fill it with a colour.

Next, load an .iff graphic (I've been using circular shaped ones, haven't
tried other shapes), leave it external and place it on top of the text frame.

Next, generate a mask for the graphic then save the file.

When you next load the file, the mask is distorted and obscures the graphic.
The only way round this is to clear the mask then generate a new one. However,
if you save & reload the file, the mask is distorted again.

This happens repeatedly on my system, using PGS4.0r7, and I've used 2
different graphics.

Hope this helps.

Not much really. I tried various combinations of the above and it worked
great for me...

How about sending me a document at support@softlogik.com that will
load/display improperly? (Someone created by the above steps would be
great. Just don't resave it after you load and verify that it doesn't look
right!)
