Hi all,

I found this on aminet:comm/mail/SnipSub.lha

/*$VER:SnipSubject V5.0 Stephan Huebner (29-12-99)
Deletes [anything in square brackets] from the subject line */

It works in *YAM*, on *non compressed* drawers. It's nice to see the subject displayed again, on my puny 800x600 14" 1942 monitor.

Sorry if i repeat information, i am late in my reading of this list.

Claude

Actually, since I subscribe to several mail lists, I like having the name of
the list shown. It helps me to know where the mail came from, so I can
make a quick decision on whether to delete it or read it.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

Hi Billy,

I just thought I'd add my .02¢ worth on this. I also received email from
several mail lists. I have folders and filters set up to receive all email
from these lists. Once the email is filtered into their respective folders,
I run that 'snipsubject.rexx' routine in the folders. The name of the list
is still in the header information and I can readily see which folder I'm
in in the 'folder list'

In the case of this mail list, the name in brackets certainly could be
shortened to something like [PGSsupt]. That would still identify this list
and allow more of the actual subject to be visible in the 'Subject' column
for those using YAM at least. I see several people on this list do use YAM,
so it would be of benefit to many here.
