I seem to have regressed in my understanding of PgS. I just downloaded the upgrade to 5.05.8 and can't seem to install it. I do not see a setup file as previous versions had.

I can run the program, with no fonts, but it actually doesn't install.

Also, why is the download labeled Demo when it's from the paid download site.

Euh...

Only the demo? I guess you are not logged/signed in! (Menu Account at:
http://www.pagestream.org/)

There is no install program!!!
You just extract the PageStream5.0.5.8.zip anywhere in a folder on any
harddisk. You can leave it there or place it anywhere else.

The rest is for what you had for PGS version (the later PGS5 - from
5.0.5.# - versions need a different approach: not the Activation key,
but the Product key), and what OS (Operating System) you use. If you had
PGS 4 the paces where PGS kept its info changed.
See:http://www.pagestream.org/?action=Documents&id=82
You
might need the language support file which are at the same page
where you downloaded PageStream5.
At least let the old PGS version on your harddisk! If you want to copy
forgotten things, it is then easy. And yes, you can have many PGS
versions on your harddisk, but you can only use one!

Fonts in File/System Preferences/Fonts...
PGS uses the system fonts, but for Windows you must assign where those
are (a bug).
You can add more fonts from any folder on your harddisk.

Just ask, if you want more info!

Theo

Unfortunately my computer, which had been running XP Pro, committed suicide, so this is a new computer with Windows 7. This system doesn't want to recognize my old disk.

Do I go back to Deron and ask for a different download?

Theo is right, you must sign in to see the files available to you -- if you are not logged in there is a message stating this followed by links to the demos.

If you *are* logged in and don't have links for your purchased files then they are not associated with your login and you need to contact support about that.

While Deron owns and subscribes to this list it is really for issues with using PgS, for account or purchase issues I recommend contacting support@pagestream.org

Don,

if you didn't get the have the good Product Key or mistyped it when
opening the brandnew PGS, you end up with the PGS demo mode also.
You can still enter the right Product Key (but, at the moment, I'm not
sure how that works. Maybe PGS asks at opening for entering. Anyway, PGS
is completely working PGS for a month (?), after that it is a demo program).

In my Windows 7 computer the harddisk is coming from a previous XP
computer. Though it isn't my C:\ drive anymore. That drive was and is
divided in two: C and D, where D contains my documents and so on, and C
contains Windows XP.
The harddisk is still working in my computer... (yes, and not XP).
