This seems to come up every couple of years or so for no reason. Once
again, if I try to draw a line or box or type something, there is no
duration. I get a micro line and can't make it longer. I can't select
a group or anything from previously done files. Everything worked a few
days ago, but not any more. I redownloaded the latest windows pro
version for my Windows 7 i5 laptop and reloaded. Rebooted from shut off
and still no change. Why does it do this and what can I do to fix it?

And you have no deja-vu how you repaired this?

Lots of empty lines.

Before running PGS again, you should delete PageStream5.ini.
If you not sure about this, you could copy PageStream5.ini on another,
save, place. But then delete PageStream5.ini at
C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\PageStream5\ (see for other OS's:
http://www.pagestream.org/?action=Documents&id=82)

Now run PGS again. You don't have to install PGS as new, just running it
will cause (now) a new PageStream5.ini.
Of course you have to fill in the name, registration and activation key.

That did the trick. To answer your question: no, I never seem to remember how to fix this. I doubt my memory will improve as I age even more but at least I remembered who would remember.
