When editing a paragraph style in PgS 5.0.5.8 linux or OS X you can set
the color of the shadow or underline by using custom settings. On OS X
the previews are correct, on linux the preview reverts to default
settings when editing the other. On both platforms the settings are
ignored and revert to defaults when closing the requester.

Creating a character style with just those settings results in an empty
style. That is, nothing is remembered. The only way to apply settings to
either of those is to directly apply them via the menu. That is, select
the text, go to Type -> Type Style -> Underline and make sure to hold
the 'shift' key to invoke the custom settings.

This is problematic when attempting to style a document uniformly. At
present I'm working on a poster and there are multiple text objects that
need to be styled the same which this makes awkward and prone to error.

Sorry about the duplicate email -- lost Internet and apparently that confused the email client.

An additional problem I encountered moving from linux to OS X was gradient fills lost the to/from color settings (replaced with <none> IIRC). That was in direct formatting of vector objects.
