Is it possible to access fonts from other programs to use in PageStream?
For example Word shows some fonts that do not show up in PageStream. Is it possible to access them or must I load them for PgS?
PageStream 5.05.8 pro; Windows 7

Word uses the fonts in your C:\Windows\Fonts folder. If you want to use
them in PageStream, then in PageStream's File menu select System
Preferences>fonts and check the box for "Use system fonts." I have XP
but Win7 should be similar.

Win7 is similar, but starting with Vista something changed such that PgS can no longer use system fonts automatically: you have to add the directory manually like any other font directory.

It depends on what you mean be "convert". Normal fonts (postscript, truetype) don't require any conversion: PgS can just use them. If you are talking about "Amiga" fonts, specifically the compugraphic fonts, they have to be converted. There was a program whose name I forget on the Amiga which could do that. On linux there's a program called FontForge. Basically, those fonts have to be converted to a "normal" font format such as PostScript Type 1 or TrueType.

IIRC the compugraphic fonts use bezier curves so Type 1 will be better than TrueType.

I've just looked into the OS 3 on my Amiga Forever folder: no Talouse font.
In the Works folder I kept all the fonts I used for PGS, and in the
System folder also no sign of Talouse.

Would that be "Typesmith" from Digita?

Typesmith converts compugraphic fonts to Postscript or TrueType (among
others, I think).

I see in another post that the original poster wanted to convert "Talouse"
and someone else asked if it was "Toulouse".

In one of my folders, I have "ToulouseLautrec" which has .dat, .lib &
.metric endings. I can't remember the type of font taht is but it must have
come from the Amiga (it's on my miggy now)

Try Agatha. The alphabetic is identical to Toulouse Lautrec but the
numerals and symbols differ somewhat.
