I put the following in my Pagestream5.ini file:

PREFERENCE FILE
EDITPALETTE SHOW AT 388 0 COLLAPSED OFF
MAINTOOLBOX SHOW AT 1172 25 HORIZONTAL SMAL

This puts them up at the top of the screen above the actual page in the
area adjacent to the tool bar. I like it - you may also.

Hi Bill,

I did try that.
It obscures a lot of my things on my toolbar.
You have more space in the PGS-window for the Document-window.

Nice thought, though!
