So sorry to hear you have had so much trouble getting PageStream to print to standard printers, Michael. I have been using Windows 7 since it came out, with PageStream and a good quality Epson photo printer (which I actually use for text etc. as well) without any problems at all. I strongly suspect that the answer lies in a particular setting in the PageStream preferences: I recall that quite a few years ago (could even be 10 or more) there was some major change, either with PageStream or maybe it was a new version of Windows, that resulted in Windows-installed printers failing to work. The solution lay in some setting in the PageStream preferences -- one you wouldn't necessarily expect to have to make -- and 'bingo!' the problem was fixed. I wish I could recall what it was: I can't check my settings at the moment, as I'm 200 km from home, but I'll try to remember to check it out when I get back.

Like so many other users, I wonder what the story is with Deron. He has done such a fantastic job with PageStream. I do hope he is well and living in good circumstances. Has development indeed finished with PageStream, or can we still hope to see some new refinements?

Cheers,

Malcolm

Hi Malcolm, mine is at 50 cm distance. So I've looked. Smile There is nothing particularly to set in PGS, as far as I can see. In Printer Setup (PGS) you can select the printer with Microsoft's Window Setup. When you can print from other programs, than it is selected. Then in Printer Setup (PGS), you can set the Offset and Faster Output (Beta), both have nothing important to do for printing (than correct printing). BTW, you do not select Faster Output (Beta). I hope with this, you remember something else you did. My 5 year old Samsung 3185 USB-printer is working correctly (Windows 7), and from scratch. Beside this, I have Python 2 (not 3!), but also has nothing to do with printing.
