IFFCTXT 4

Following Deron's suggestion, I installed procexp.exe and Handle.exe.
Process explorer is just a frightening program.
When run it claims that my poor little laptop
is running 140 processes of which only about 20
are any thing obviously to do with me.

Anyway, as I opined yesterday, I no longer believe that
IFFCTXT has anything much to do with the problem.

I am inclined to put my money on some difference
between 5.0.5.7 and 5.0.5.8.

If Windows 10 Pro refuses to start the program at all in future,
I definitely intend to snip its complaining window.
I am sorry I did not do so the first time.
That may provide an extra clue to solving the problem.

I should say that I am not expecting Deron to produce
5.0.5.9 if the problem is solved.
The problem is perfectly liveable with.
However, as a retired computer programmer
this sort of anomalous behaviour irritates me
and I would like to see it accounted for.

Also, I am still interested to hear whether
a PostScript compatible colour laser printer
will suit PageStream5.0.5.8.

No Ron,

this is more a PageStream 5.0.5.8 issue together with Windows XP (?), 7, 8 and 10.
Maybe you are lucky, or you don't do the bit more complicated things. ;)
I have this, I must stress, a few times. And I switch to 5.0.5.7 when this happens and most of the times I can go on working again (don't get me wrong, PGS 5.0.5.7 has it own flaws).

It can be annoying, but as we can't put a finger on the why and cannot reproduce this, this issue stays. Where or what must Deron looking for? No one can find a solution if you can't reproduce that malfunction.

Maybe you can say what is open with you as you play with PGS. I have Firefox and Thunderbird open all the time (even when I had Windows XP). And I believe Michael (Irish) too.

Theo - on Windows 10 (64 bits)
