I am not sure that I understood Deron's point about
choosing a PostScript printer. In Print Setup the choices are:-
<Bitmap File>
<PostScript File>
Windows

The PostScript File one presumably does what it says
but I do not see how that helps.

Choosing Windows on my machine gives me a choice of 9 things
3 of which refer to this Xerox printer.

This afternoon, I tried Theo's file, which printed perfectly well,
and edited the text for my circumstances to produce another version.

PageStream5.0.5.8 Pro 10/11/10

Xerox Phaser 6600DN PS

Vertical 0,5 t/m 29,4 cm (slightly less than 0,5)

Horizontal 0,5 t/m 20,5 cm (slightly less than 0,5 and slightly more
than 20,5)

A4 is 21 x 29,7 cm !!

Windows 10 Pro

The Printer is blinking green saying it is receiving data for 2 mins 15
secs approximately.

However, the important thing is that the A4 sheet comes out perfectly well
and it is a useful document which demonstrates the actual print area of
this printer.

My document, which I described before, is still having only
the top left hand part being printed in the lower left hand
corner of the A4 sheet. That is true on both sides.
The last time I tried it I had adjusted the margin guides
( I have set all four to 0,5 cm now
and edited the document to take advantage of them.)
to allow for the slightly increased printable area
and that had affected the positioning of what was printed,
correctly I think.
Also, my document has the printer saying it is receiving data
for about 10 minutes, which I must say seems a very long time.

I haven't been able to get PageStream to print for ages with my Windows machine.  I have to save as a PDF file and then print from there.  Works out pretty much the same either way, I guess.

I've fritter-farted with it numerous times, but always end up saying "P*ss on it!!!, and just go to what works.
