Philip, I forgot another thing. You probably have Ligature On in your Attributes (File/Preferences.../Type). This makes every new document comes with ligatures. If you don't want this, then turn it to Off with the Edit... and than in Kerning...

Thank you for the replies :-) Nice to know how to turn it on and off. I don't use PGS nearly enough these days, so I am getting pretty rusty.
