My C: partition was getting more and more corrupted to the point many tasks were no longer functioning. So I bit the bullet and did a clean install of Win 10 Pro. But now two fonts I use frequently are not showing up in 5.0.5.8 PRO for Windows. (probably more are missing, too.) They are usable in MS Word. I've set the font path in System prefs. Why would only some of my fonts show up in PgS?

Oddly, PgS ran without reinstalling it to get the .init file back in windows. Nonetheless, i removed it and "reinstalled" it from the ZIP file. But it never did ask for my user ID. After some tweaking, it will now open some of my recent files. But the "missing" fonts are still an issue. Any ideas?

Hi Paul,

are you sure about the clean install? Or did you overwrite an older Windows-version (than it makes sense that the PageStream .ini was already there).

I bought me a new computer a few years ago with Windows 10 on it, so if Microsoft failed to deliver some fonts, I should see it. So, what fonts are you missing?

Hello,

Two possibilities.

One, they put the font in a new format that PageStream does not
understand. You would need to find the font in your system font path to
confirm it is there. Seems unlikely, but possible.

Two, they put the font in some other folder. Windows used to keep
registries of where fonts are found. That changed around Windows 7,
which is when you needed to start adding the system font path yourself
in PageStream's Font Prefs (which 99.9999% is all there is). So all you
need to do is find where it is stored and add that font path.

Here is a link I just found that might help you see what fonts are
installed in your Windows/Fonts folder. I'm sure other discussions
exists:https://www.lifewire.com/locate-font-files-1074150
