Hi all,

just a few minor niggles concerning the Index functions in PGS4r7. I
would class them somewhere in between bugs and unexpected behaviour:

- When choosing Design Index Topix, when a list of Topics already
exists, clicking the new button in the requester gives the XRef
option. To actually create a brand new index topic, Shift Click New
has to be used. I would expect clicking new to allow me to enter a new
topic, and maybe shift click new or even an extra button labeled xref
to create a crossreference index topic.
- With the insertion point in the text (say on page 125), select
"insert index mark". The index topic requester appears, showing me the
correct current page I'm on. As soon as I select an index topic from
the cycle gadget, the pagenumber changes to page 5, fooling me into
thinking that the index mark will be inserted on page 5. Generating an
index proves that all marks are on the right page though. So, I can
live with it, knowing that it will perform well, and only shows some
wrong info, but this being a betalist, I thought I'd mentione it just
the same.

While on the subject of beta lists and bugs, in my case the
Find/Replace function doesn't work correctly: If I select Find/Replace
in a document with multiple chapters, and select "Entire Document" as
a search place, Only the current chapter gets searched, not the entire
document. Can anyone confirm/deny this? Maybe something is wrong with
the way I try to do it, or with my system? If I'm the only one having
those minor problems, PageStream is not to blame for it.

Cheers,

Dirk

OK, I could do that. "New Topic" and "New XRef" buttons. I'm just not sure
how often someone would create the list of topics in advance?

I added two new "new" buttons to the resource and delete the old "new"
button Smile I left the old code for the "new" button in so that if someone
get the old rsrc file with the new program it will work as you have above.

Otherwise, if they have the two new "new" buttons, it will work the new way Smile

Way ahead of you Smile Already fixed in r8 Smile

Not often, agreed. But how often does someone like me (a half idiot Smile
wants to create an Index, only to find out he forgot 20% of the words
to be included in the index in the list of topics? Smile
