Hello,
excuse me for long silence about this topic. I had destroyed all datas on my
hard-disk cause a failure.

I have thought about my banding problem and I finally understood some thing.
The on screen gradient banding was only a problem on my computer, infact,
after the "big crash" I have reintstalled all files and the bands are
disappeared using 24 and 32 bit screens.

For the banding during print, I suppose that problem is in
TurboPrint/PageStream conjunction. Since PageStream treats TurboPrint
driver like a preference printer, I think PageStream send to driver only
4096 colors. So gradients banding is evident. (Is it right?)

The only way to print using 24 bit colors is to print using the PostScript
device included in TurboPrint distribution.

So, please excuse me for alarm in previous messages. PageSteam works well.

Is there a way to directly interface TurboPrint to PageStream (like Studio
for example)?

Regards
Giovanni Bianchessi

It has been a while since I did the install but as long as you installed a
driver for your printer and Ghostscript when installing (the latest)
Turboprint you will be able to get beautiful prints.
Make sure you have Turboprefs set up correctly.
In Pagestream you use the setup (in the print requester) to define your
printer driver as Postscript and device = PS. Actually you should find this
info somewhere in the Turboprint docs...it maybe a read-me file, I don't
remember.

With Pagestream's ability to save your printer setups it's good with more
than one printer. If you want to send output to the "other" printer (ie not
the one you have as "default" you just choose "load" in the print requester
(after you have previously set it up and saved it of course).

Hope this is clear enough, if not get back to me.
