PageStream 3.4 b9 report:

Since 10 day I battle with my last publication. I cannot make spot
separation. Document has 8 pages, first fullcolour, others 2-color.
When i try to print (I tested print with PgS DJ1120C driver and PostScript
Linotronic 530 driver), appear system error requester #80000006 and two
resolutions of this problem: Suspend and reboot (Wink

1. I deleted all other spot colours. There is defined one more colour as
process colour. It is use on first page. Error appear even if I print range
from 2 to 8 page.
2. I am sure that I have only one additional spot colour (from Pantone palette)
3. Yesterday a maked this printout. I checked all objects in publication and
finded text frames with Pantone set to "Tint=0%". I changed it to
"no fill" and additionaly fill colour to "White". It helped. Only to next
reload of document.
4. I haven't something to change, none objects on pasteboard.
5. Four thin black lines overhang on first page out of page. There are
placed one end on sheet.
6. Packed document is about 1.7 MB large and has 14MB external graphic
file.
7. Printing work not on PgS 3.3a too (exclusively installed, separately
assigned on request after reset befor started something).
8. Printing without separation work properly.
9. I *must* print this publication. What should I do?

How much system RAM do you have?

I believe PageStream has the capability to use a swap file (?) also. If
I am correct here, how much room do you have for that swap file?

As far as I know, I've never had to use the swap file thingy, or I just
don't have it set, so I might be wrong about that.

First, have you tried printing spot seps of a simple document? Does that work?

Second, have you tried printing the document normal (ie grayscale)? Does
that work?

If you can print the document normal, then you can always make your own
spot seps by hand. PageStream3.4 should do it for you, but if you are in a
hurry and can't figure out what is wrong, than at least this will let you
get the job done. Just save your document, then modify everything that is
the second color and change it to white. Then print. This will be the first
plate. Then reload the original document, and modify everything that is the
first color and change it to white. Then print. This will be the second
plate. If you have objects that you are setting to white, and _nothing_ is
underneath it, then you can just delete it. Just make sure you don't
overwrite your original document with the modified one!

I have 128MB RAM and don't promote swapping unnecessary. When I load
document Workbench report ~102MB free fast memory. I think, in this case
this isn't memory.

Yes, that does. Only when I set spot separation and then press gadget
"Plates" or "Print" (save to file) appears after 1-2 sec "Software Failure".
