Hi all,
Is there anyone on this list able and willing to look at and modify a PPD for me?
This is the situation. I am producing a newsletter for a friend who has arranged for printing through a copy company. First time round due to time constraints I output as four separate "camera ready" copy pages which he took there. The ultimate format is double sided A3 for one fold. To streamline the whole process we wish to do it electronically with me supplying the finished product as a PDF. Now Pagestream doesn't give options when saving as PDF so I can't embed the fonts. I can get round this by "printing" a postscript file to disk then running it through Acrobat Distiller under iFusion emulation. So far so good. Our test PDF worked well but the copy company says the PDF has to be in the final format of two "signature" pages, that is the test came back as four separate A4 pages.
This is where my problem begins. I want to use the PPD for the copy company's output device to get all the correct parameters. (They say their "driver" is Xerox 240/255/265 ST/LP PS2). I can't use the one for my own printer because as an A4 printer I don't get the option to print to A3. The PPDs (several versions?? they all appear to be the same to me, Windows or Mac) I downloaded from the Xerox site(s) don't work with Pagestream, ie I don't get any options to choose resolution or paper sizes. The information all appears to be there (when I read it as a text file) but it must work differently under Windows. I did a test using a Linotronic PPD as supplied with Pagestream and am awaiting the results.
So if anyone can help please email me and I'll send the PPD.
Thanks
