Okay, Deron, thanks. Then the "real" dumb question is, how do I create a
"real," editable text box of a certain size and position which will appear
on every page?

Well, if you are importing text, just create one on the first page using
either the column drawing tool in the toolbox, or Create Text Frame in the
layout menu, make sure that the "create columns on overflow" is turned on
and import.

Otherwise, you can draw each one individually using the toolbox and link
them together using layout->link text frames, or create many pages worth
using Create Text Frame, linking them automatically (or not, and link them
together later).

There are two different directions of thinking out there in DTP land. You
are thinking more along the lines of those that work more like word
processors. PageStream works more like a drawing program. Two schools of
thought, both useful, but different. Slowly I have implemented cross
features to try and create a sensible mix of the two. Like the auto text
frames.

BTW, you can post these on the main PageStream support list. More people
over there, with more chances to get a good answer Smile
