Hello PageStreamAmigaBetaList:

Downloaded and installed PageStream5 Pro for AmigaOS 4. The download
went fine and installed the program by unarcing to RAM: and then
copying to a new PageStream 5 directory. When I went to run the
program, it would not start. Received the message that unknown
datatype needed. I checked the default icon created by AmigaOS 4 and
it had Multiview as the default tool. Changed that but it still would
not run.

Open the default icon and executeable button not checked. Checked it
and then started the program. It opened a small screen on the
Workbench for registration. Entered requested information and then the
program ran. It opened a window on Workbench with the document at
about 76% zoom.

I could run preferences and the system preferences for fonts. No
font directory was part of the lha archive. I entered the system fonts
directory.

I could not run the display prefs at all. Did not crash the program
but did not open either. Opened a new document and it worked.
However, the display was not stable as scrolling turned the part of the
document page to the background color. I could refresh the display but
scrolling again had the same effect.

Went to close the main document window. The outline of the opening
requester appeared but had no buttons or text. The main document
window stayed open but froze. Mouse still moved and other programs
worked. Warm rebooted to remove the frozen program.

I have an AmigaOne XE with 1 GB of memory that has tested fine, a
Radeon 7000 graphics card and a SATA drive. I have update 3 installed
for AmigaOS 4.

I hope the information is useful. Thanks once again, Deron, for
advancing my Amiga and continuing to develop probably my main Amiga
program. I look forward to a final stable version of PS Pro 5.

Talk to you later.

Deron and Version 5 Colleagues:

I opened PS 5 Pro for the second time. Loaded as it did the first
time. Opened prefs from the small setup window and worked with no
problem. However, when I went to close the small window the Grim
Reaper appeared. It noted a DSI problem. Pressing continue brought an
immediate Grim Reaper. Closing that Grim Reaper then displayed an
error number in a shell.

I started the program in a shell. Hope this is useful.

Talk to you later.

My mistake. I rebuilt the executables and forgot to set that...

Still working on this. At this time the program only supports Type1 and
TrueType via FreeType2. I'll put the default font set in the next archive
(we don't ship with fonts on other platforms).

Actually, nothing behind that. I am unsure at this time what should be in
there when running under MUI. Screens etc are controlled by it, not PageStream.

Yes, application initiated refresh is mostly broken. Should be in the readme.

Ah! The alert requesters are blank! Thanks for the report!

What small window are you talking about?
