>But is '4.1.7.6pro' a PPC version designed for OS4.0???
Yes. Amiga OS4 PPC and MorphOS versions for PageStream4.1, 4.1 Pro, 5.0 and 5.0 Pro are available (in beta form).
>What I'd like to know is: > >Has anyone downloaded and successfully installed an Amiga PPC 5.x >version and has found that it runs properly?
Many have downloaded, I doubt anyone has found it to run "properly". It works here, but has many interface issues still to go. Just finished uploading a new set of executables, and things should be much better than the previous version, and I'm sure the next version will be much better than this one.
Still some mysterious memory trashing/crashing I'm still trying to track down, and popups and lists don't look right. Some buttons are the wrong size, etc. I would say like a car missing the frame. Not pretty, makes you uncomfortable to drive, don't do it in the rain, but it goes somewhere?
>I thought all the 'good' changes, like PDF import, would occur in >the PPC 5.x versions.
Well, PDF import is available since 4.1. But yes, many good changes in 5.0. I can provide a list if you want
>It is really annoying that this information is not "easily" >available at the Grasshopper website. I've been there many times >and am still NOT sure what has been released. The information is >probably there but where?
The front page says it all as far as I can tell.
"PageStream5.0 for AmigaPPC works on any PPC system that OS4 will run on. It also requires at least 25MB of hard drive space and 20mb of memory available to PageStream. Development is nearly complete and betas are available to all who purchase it before the final version is made available."
