Hi everyone,

I have found in PGS 4.1.7.9 that the Bitstream fonts do work. I still
cannot open old documents, but when I open a new document, go to text mode
and start typing, I get nothing (not even space) with the default font
(Artistic), but if I open the font preferences (from the font submenue of
the type menu, not from the edit palette) and select any of the Bitstream
fonts, typing works as expected. I can also save and reload these test
documents, although I still cannot open older documents.

That reminds me, when I first downloaded 4.1.7.6, the default path
preferences looked strange, like they were for linux. Some paths looked
like this "directory" and other paths looked like this "/directory" and
other paths looked like this "~/directory" I have changed them to have no
leading ~ or / for my amiga, but is this correct? Perhaps PGS doesn't have
access to all the fonts because there is some badly configured path on my
system.

Hope this helps,

Stuart Anderson

The fonts are still work in progress. They should be working better than
that, but...

No, that wouldn't matter. Those paths are simply used for default paths for
load/saving etc. Once the proper prefs are included with the program, this
should go away, but thanks for the reminder.

Dear Deron!

Reading the mails I can see that some users can run PGS5
under OS4 with functional problems, but there is some who
cannot even start it.
I am amongst the second group.

After unpacked the archive (4.1.7.9 or 5.0.x.9 does not matter)
it starts first time. The horiz. and vert. toolbars are
there, but the edit palette is just a small (minimized) window
without any gadgets in it.

When I started a new page, the Grim Reaper came and it hangs
even if I was selected the more button.
After a restart the same has happens but just after the
vert. toolbar appearing. No horizontal tool bar.

Below there is the captured serial output which may tell
something to you. It would be helpful if you could include
debug outputs in a next release.

Here goes:

I get the same thing, I can run it once, then it neverstarts properly again.
