Not quite true, you need a registered copy to "save" any edits, Im also not
sure if this includes screens.

NO the option doesnt appear to be there yet, however you can edit screens
in the MUI prefs, you can also set up a screen in OS4's screen editor and
use that (although you cant assign it to MUI yet from within PageStream).

easier:
- start mui prefs
- go to "windows"
- under "control" -> "gadgets" activate the second gadget and save the
prefs (or use them)
this will affect all mui programs

then start pagestream. you will find the now active gadget in the
pagestream window title bar on the right. this actually is... guess
what... the magically "call programs mui settings" gadget. just press
it and voila!

nevertheless the mui prefs should go to the "system prefs" part of the
pagestream menu.

I assumed you count "from the left."

Went to MUI and followed your instructions above. Saved the new MUI
settings and then opened 5.0.2.9Pro. All went well until the
Pagestream window showing 'name', 'company', etc., opened. At that
point, OS4.0 froze solid. So much so that a warm reboot would not
work and RESET was necessary.

Without changing anything, tried again. Same response: freeze. So I
went back to MUI and undid the change, and saved back to the
original settings.

Now 5.0.2.9Pro opens without a problem.

Not here! Wink

Ok, I looked at your 'buttons'. It only took about 10 minutes before
that stupid Yahoo let me get my hands of them!

The GR_003.png photo:

Your PageStream Navigator has two 'extra' icons! Mine does not
include your leftmost two. The photo showed but the first line of
'Tips' indicating that you were at the 2nd tip of 49 whereas here
that string gadget is empty.

The GR_005.png photo:

When the 'Window' tab is active, your titlebar shows "User Interface
Settings for PageStream5" whereas mine shows "MUI Preferences".

You have three of the five 'Gadgets' highlighted, I have none.

The 'Positions' 'Refresh' and 'Redraw' fields are exactly the
same.

The MUI here is version 3.9 and it is unregistered.

Not sure what else I should observe. OH! Your '.pgn' photos seemed
to be cut off. Perhaps that was deliberate, perhaps AWeb did not
display them properly.

Smile yahoo is great - yes

they can be activated in mui prefs. per default they are not visible
afair.

?? there is no string gadget visible on the screenshot? i only snapped
the title of the window plus some extra lines.

okay - that's it. unregistered. the unregistered version does not
allow to save individual settings per application. thus the "common"
title instead of an "application customized" one.

that you cannot define the additional buttons - well. sad. deron
should make the mui prefs entry into the next release - btw, deron,
when???

they are not - well actually yes. i grabbed them in that way. no need
to take screenshots of the whole thing if only part of it is
interesting Smile

Maybe so, but when I activated one of them -- second from the left
??? -- and then did a SAVE, it raised hell with PageStream 5.0.2.9.
Also, I checked again in MUI and the SAVE had indeed saved the
setting.; i.e., the selected icon still was highlighted (active).

MM>> The photo showed but the first line of

Sorry about that, my terminology is not good! I should have referred
to the field where the word 'Tips' appears on the left side while
"n of 49" appears on the right, with 'n' being the current 'Tip'
number. Here, only the word 'Tips' appears and the rest of the field
is blank, and so is the area where the tip would appear. As soon as
I click on 'Prev' or 'Next' then a tip appears and everything looks
as it should be. Not perfect but not traumatic either. Wink

OK. So with a 'registered' version it is clear how to apply the
settings to a particular application!

I agree. I just was not sure. Thought AWeb might have been cheating.

PageStream scare:
The first time I was composing this response, I decided to open
PageStream 5.0.2.9 to check out something. Clicked the 5.0.2.9 icon
in AmiDock, and after presenting the window in which one's name,
company, etc., appeared, OS4.0 froze when it got to "Loading
?????" -- ????? = can't recall. The freeze was so solid that a
RESET was necessary. Tried again. Same seizure. After about three
RESETs I figured there was a problem. As far as I could tell, I'd
not made any changes of consequence. After a while I turned the A1
off and later came back. Tried PageStream 5.0.2.9 again. Same
freeze!! Oh, Oh! Looks like it is time try an new installation, but
I did not.

Today, I fired up the A1, then PageStream 5.0.2.9 and all was well
again!!!! I'm going to try again, but first we'll do a HOLD on
this message before the gamble. Wink

Later ..... No sweat! Opened again without problems. Hmmmmmm!!
