Some back story. On AOS4upd3 when I tried to run PGS5pro (any version)
The system would seem to lock up for several minutes (never timed it)
when loading the tool bars (both vertical and horizontal).

Now, for those who have missed it (what rock are you hiding under?),
Update#4 for AOS4.0pre was released yesterday. It is provided as an .iso
and does both an upgrade and a full install.

I installed AOS4upd4 last night by copying my SYS: to a drawer in
another partition, deleting everything in SYS:, and then doing a clean
install. I'm still re-installing many extras. Without changing anything
in my PGS5pro 5.0.2.10 drawer I tried to run it to see what would
happen. The first thing I got was a top-of-screen error message stating
"Font softlogic.font is defective at glyph #126". But once that cleared
(by either timing out or me RMB clicking) PGS started up nice and
quickly. In exchange the a commodity called "Pagestream5" appeared and
in the info window the following was reported:

0.0

?

When I tried to open one of the sample documents I got a
font-substitution box, but no font substitutions were visible. (The text
area where the font substitutions normally are was blank.) After that,
the document seemed to open no problem. I went to try to print, but in
my limited time that I had to test I wasn't able to quickly figure out
how to direct the postscript output stream to NETPAR:, the device I have
configured to send data over Ethernet to my printer. (There may be a
configuration issue due to a partial hand-reinstall...)

I closed PGS5pro, and noted that the commodity in exchange was still
there. I couldn't remove it using the remove button in exchange. I
started PGS5pro again and saw a second "Pagestream5" commodity appear in
exchange.

These are some quick notes, as I didn't have much time to play with
this. I'll try to find some time this weekend, possibly.

you should not install too much "extras" on your system parition to make such updates easier. that's by the way a perfect example for multi-assigns.

iirc deron mentioned a fixed softlogic.font as part of the .10 archive. are you using an older one?

not an update4 problem. unfortunately the font substitution window never has worked so far. and it even crashes if you try to select a font from the cycle box.

iirc the printer popup currently does not work at all - at least the settings.

yepp... i reported that several weeks ago - right after the first beta version. but it still is in there. pagestream does not "remove" itself properly.

i really hope to see an improved version really soon now. actually i expected a weekly (or 2-weekly) update until it is useable - deron?

byebye...
