First impressions of 4.1.7.12 pagestreamppc

1. Still gives the orange font error on startup
2. Now moves properly from page to page in multipage documents
3. If you drag the window to enlarge it the page goes solid black.
selecting redraw from scripts menu draws page at original size-
not enlarged size.
4. refresh problems back worse than ever.
5. selecting a font from the font sub window gauses dsi error that
freezes the program.
6. Saving a Document with Graphic (gif) causes DSI error. Ignore DSI
errors continues the program (I have the crash log if anyone is
Interested)
7. Still not able to load jpg's when selecting palce graphic

I assume you mean the softlogik.font error? Then you have this font from a
previous installation!

Thanks.

Which do you mean?

Thanks! I forgot to write that one done!!

Do you have problems loading documents with graphics? Obviously you were
able to import a gif.
I can reproduce a problem saving a palette picture.

>7. Still not able to load jpg's when selecting palce graphic

PNG and BMP doesn't work either yet.

usually redraw works fine here. but this case i have not tried yet.

it's more like "still not working like ever" here when moving around on the
page.

for me it seems that graphics in genreal are not working very well
(importing for example). this is for PNGs, JPGs, GIFs, PDFs.

What is wrong with GIF? (and I assume you mean PDF document loading?)

I have not kept any fonts from previous installation.I even installed a version sent me in a pm that
was supposed to fix it. NO luck

Interestingly I can load pages with graphics even if the graphics were jpg bit I cannot
place a jpg. I can definately place a gif in a page. Cannot save page with a placed gif.

Just fixed this problem. Checked the Pagestream fonts assign in the
user-startup as suggested by Deron in message 1172. This assign was
pointing to my 68k PageStream fonts folder. Replaced these SoftLogik
fonts with new the new ones and this solved the problem for me - no
more recoverable alert on start-up. (I though assigns weren't needed
for the new versions of PageStream?)

They are not. Did you not say that the assign was to your 68k PageStream
fonts folder? That font that is added there is accessible to every program,
not just PageStream4!

Following instructions in messages here fixed font error at startup.
Did this before continuing testing of Pagestream 4.1.7.12 ppc.

When selecting a font from "Font menu->choose" Iaccidently double
clicked the font and got a DSI GR that froze the program. The only
way out was to reboot.

(working with file created in 68 version)
when saving a multipage file containing graphics the program did not
crash (yesterday it cause\d recoverable DSI) but did not save full
file and the result was not reloadable to pagestream. The original
file was 7,718,930 bytes the saved file was 14,932. No error message
occurs Pagestream just does nothing when I try to reload the file.

In other words, you changed the assignment statement:

Assign Fonts: "PageStream:SoftLogik/Fonts" ADD

to something like

Assign Fonts: «path to the 'Fonts' directory in 4.1.7.12 PPC» ADD

Correct?

No, I probably could have done that though. But since I am maintaining
the 68k version on my A1 until the PPC version is more mature, I have
left all of the setup/assigns for the 68k version alone. I just
replaced the defective SoftLogik font file that was in that assign:
with the newer (fixed) version that came with PS PPC.
