Hi all

Menu item Window >
all the windows (palettes) chosen from here are not resizable and all except
the Layer and Document are almost full screen width which doesn't leave much
space for a document if we could get that far.

But we will.

Choosing Menu > Help > About Pagestream pops up the familiar window and
interestingly it did have my name and reg number in there so it must have
saved the registration details even though before it was reported that on
each run it requested those details.
Choosing anything else from that menu produces nothing.
In preferences I changed the View Magnification from Full Height to Full
Width and "Use". Then started a "New" document from the menu rather than the
navigator window I made it landscape instead of portrait. It opened a window
without the instant crash. i had to resize the window which went black until
I played with the "rolling" chooser at the bottom left. No matter what you
choose it still shows as Actual Size even though eg you may have chosen Full
Pasteboard and that's what you see.
Another problem here is that the mouse pointer has a permanent attachment of
the marching ants and the window content scrolls frantically with mouse
movement.

File > Open
File > Append produce no response nor does
File > Place Graphic

Missing from the archive BME, Pageliner, a Fonts Folder ???

i'd better go to bed it's way past bedtime.

Same here (well, nearly the same) for .12 on the Amiga platforms (what do I
call MorphOS, Amiga OS4, and Amiga 68k?). The interesting bit of
information is the need to remove the filters to get PageStream to load.
That has to be fixed before .13. Now if I can just reproduce it (which is
why I am so perplexed that it appears to effect everyone _but_ me).

You should not be able to get into PageStream unless it accepts the
registration details. I suppose it could be possible it does not get the
data written to disk. Take a look at the PageStream folder. You should now
have a UserPrefs folder, which has a PageStream5.prefs file in it, which
when loaded with a texteditor should have your personal details in it (same
format as before, just a slightly different location. Most preference items
should be stored in this folder now, and any default files shipped with
PageStream will not overwrite these files in updates. This includes
fontprefs, colors, styles, etc).

That _should_ be fixed in the next release already (hard to say when
strange things happen...)

Not here. Sounds like the mouse button is down (or at least that it thinks
it is).

As expected. You removed all the filters Wink

BME/Pageliner was just an oversight. The fonts are not included in the
archive on purpose. They are downloadable from the web site, but they are
still being worked on. I still have a few to update. All the old
compugraphic and dmf fonts are converted to TrueType format (which is now
about the best format. Type1 is better supported than before, but TrueType
is way better than before). About half of the fonts in the current archive
have a couple characters which have filled counters. Oops.

Ok I have discovered that what happens is when you have the Softlogik folder
available after entering the reg. info it doesn't write the file so on
subsequent runs you have to enter the details again because there is no file
to read. If you disable the Softlogik folder you do have to enter the reg.
details for the first run but on subsequent runs you do not because it does
write the file.

I wasn't complaining just noting "in case" you weren't aware.
Of course with the fonts I was comparing to previous versions (4.x) where it
was part of the package.
