I just noticed the version of the program file in the 4.1.8.1a archive
is 5.0.3.1. not 4.1.8.1. Could this be the problem causing prog not
top load and gurus?

Sort of. It appears that the 4.1 (not 4.1 pro) program executable is
mangled. I've been having problems with the shell cp not handling file over
writes. I usually delete all executables first before compiling. Must have
missed that one. Try the 4.1.8.1 archive, but replace the PageStream4
executable with the previous release.

Another run at latest version 4 for AMiga os4
Replacing the program file with pagestream4.1.7.12 program file
1. I get all the old refresh problems when dragging window larger or
smaller.
2. about every third time it starts up it freezes at initializing.
3. when loading any file it displays the font sub window.
4. If Font used in a file is not one from the Fonts/SoftLogik drawer
it is replaced with "Artistic" no matter which font was chosen in the
font substitution window. So Font substitution does not work.
5. If you change your mind and select several different fonts in font
sub window you get the guru meditation-dsi errors

Of course this isn't a true test since I have to use the old program file.
But the beset I can offer 'til the 4.1.8 prgram file is available.

Works ok here as well.

Well, it really depends on what fonts are used in the file. The biggest
problem is that any new document created with this version will include the
style tags defined in this version. And that style tag file is a copy from
Windows. When you load that new document, or copy/paste text, it still sees
those style tags using the non existent fonts (Times New Roman and Arial).
I've fixed it for the next release (you can do the same until then by
fixing the default styles).

Works ok here, but the font sub requester can be a bit confusing right now
because of display issues.

Not here, but I'll keep my eye out for this and the other issues you had.

I would be surprised if any of these were related to the program itself,
but anything is possible when it comes to a bug.
