Hello Deron and All,

I use PageStream4 for 68K on two AmigaOnes. (I am really looking
forward to PageStream5 Pro for AmigaOS 4 which is advancing nicely but
still not sufficiently stable for my work.) One is a home office
model, XE, and an Office model, a SE. I send files back and forth as I
do work on both.

However, a recent file is acting very differently on the two systems.
The XE is creating a PostScript output much larger, maybe 9 or 10
times larger, file than does the SE. And the file from the SE is
easily transformed into a pdf file by Adobe Professional whereas the XE
file has bullets (empty squares) for some of the text. The PageStream
file is identical on both systems.

I don't think any of the difference is due to the different models of
AmigaOnes. I assume there is some setting in preferences, general or
specific to PostScript file saving, that makes the difference.
However, I cannot find what setting that is.

Any help appreciated. Frustrating to have identical PageStream files
produce some different output.

Thanks for any help. And particular thanks for the ongoing
development of PageStream 5.

Talk to you later.

Sounds to me like a difference in the fonts.

What would cause such a difference? I exchange the file between the
two AmigaOnes. Is it an incorrect font setting on one of the
PageStream programs?

Thanks for the response.

My opinion would be different installed fonts. Either a font file missing
on one computer, or corrupt, or different fonts all together.

I suspect that some fonts did not install properly on my home
AmigaOne. I will reinstall.

Thanks again for the help.

i'd expect the pagestream font prefs...

i have a strange problem here. one document using the font "dobkin
script" (ttf) does NOT include the fonts in the postscript output at
all.
i just removed all fonts and added the one font directory with that
font in it (and some tenth more). dobkin script was not listed... i
used ither fonts and printed to a postscript file. alls fonts were
correctly included.
i the updated the font path in the font prefs (btw... still each font
path is listed twice! one with trailing slash and one without) and
then dobkin was listed - ans also printed! that is strange...

well, i found the problem to *my* problem (dobkin not printing).
i accidently had dobkin installed two times. one was the postscript
version. and that one did not work. using just the ttf works very nice
now!

have you compared the two files in a text editor (if they are not too
big) just to see the rough differences?

i also found that the actual printing process of the os4 version
takes sometimes longer as when using the old 68k version... and that
is strange, imho.

Good idea. One did have a different font list. A couple of fonts
were listed as T1 and T2. Both were noted as Type 3.
