I had a little time today to unarchive and take a look at PageStream,
but I'm stumped.

I get a Software License Agreement, and time to read it before the
"OK" button comes unghosted. Then comes a little window called
"Personalize." I put in my name, but I didn't know what to fill in
for Reg #, so I logged in to "my profile" on the PageStream site and
found a registration number. I typed that in, and my password (the
one I access the PageStream site with), and got:

Please run PageStream again and re-enter personal data. Thank you!

I next tried an "Activation number" I found in my profile. Same
result.

I next wondered if "Name" meant "User Name" (which maybe I wasn't
supposed to make different?), so I tried that in turn with both
numbers. Always the same result.

I initially registered with PageStream in mid-January and downloaded
5.0.3.3 about a week later.

Help!

Okay, there are two pieces of information there: the registration number and
password. The password for the website is completely separate and different
from the "password" used to unlock the application.

On the website go to your profile and look up your product information. It
will be something like this:

Product Version Registration Activation
PageStream 5.0 ######## xxxxxxxxx

The "registration" column is the registration number.

The "activation" column is the password.

You can always try editing the prefs file by hand. I haven't used an Amiga in
years, but I think it keeps the prefs file in the same directory as the
PageStream executable. The relevant lines would look like:

USERREGNUM #######
USERPASSWORD xxxxxxxx

If that doesn't work contact sales@pagestream.org or post back to the list --
but it will take Deron or Dan to fix any problems with registration numbers
or activation codes. (And please don't post either of them to the list.)

In my opinion PageStream should change the text in the dialog to prompt for
"activation code" instead of "password", maybe that would clarify things.

this should be the correct one.
you need the "registration number" from your profile which you fill in the
field "Reg #" and the "activation number" from your profile which you fill
in the field "Password".

if this should not work you have to contact deron directly.

byebye...

Thank you! I should have tried that--it was about the only thing I hadn't!

Now to learn how to use it.
