Hello again list,

In Pagestream I did try to copy the sun-character, did open The Find/Change
from the Edit-Menu, after that I did paste the sun-character into the
Find-row, and there appeared the very right EURO-character, I did write the
same character into the Change-row, also there it was ok, but in the
document it does not change the sun-character.

Also I did change all 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 to one character instead of 3, The most
of the text is in Times New Roman, I did Insert character from the Type
Menu to get 1/4 in one character and did copy the character, putting one in
find the other in change, the character pasted into change was not the same
as the one copied (1/2 was showed as a Danish ae) , but when changing in
the document the right characters appeared in the document.

Kind regards
Anders Willför

That last sounds like a mixup of font encodings which would not surprise me on
the Amiga. Prior to Unicode there were endless encoding schemes aimed at
getting the characters a particular group needed into the limited 256
character set of a font. Basically, if the character position for 1/2 in the
font you were using happened to be used for 'ae' in the font in the user
interface that is what you will see.

Unfortunately there are still many non-Unicode fonts out there so these sorts
of idiosyncracies still show up.
