Hello,

Now I have changed all EURO-characters to the font Bitstream Vera Serif
Roman, and still I have one more problem. I have to make the catalogue in
pdf-format.
I'm following the Total Amiga article in issue 18 "Create PDF's on Your
Amiga", It means print the file to postscript-file from Pagestream, and
make it into PDF with Ghostscript. Now the Ghostscript don't know the
Bitstream-font so in the PDF-file every EURO-character is like a space
(=empty).

Anybody know how to add fonts to Ghostscript? I can see that in
"Utilities/Ghostscript/Data/8.54/Resource/CMap/" there are a lot of files,
but which part of the font-files are there?

I know that Pagestream can export directly into PDF, but the above article
says that then I may run into font-problems if the Printing factory don't
have the same fonts I have used. (Generating the PDF with Ghostscript has
the advantage of embedding the used fonts)

This is not the first time I am making going true this process, but it is my
first try with the Euro-char included.

Kind regards

The fonts don't need to be in ghostscript. Make sure that the fonts are
"downloaded" when you print to a postscript file. Although looking at the
print requester I don't think you have any choice so I'm wondering why the
fonts wouldn't be included. Specifically, font unload (in Print Setup in the
Print requester) is one of Document, Page and Unlimited.

What PPD are you using when you print to file?

I had a similar problem with Adobe Professional 7 on my WindowsXP
computer. It would insert rectangles in place of certain font
characters. Turned out it was a setting how to treat fonts. I
typically save PostScript files in both FinalWriter and PageStream. I
then send them to my Windows computer and use Adobe to create pdf
files.

Of course, I don't recall the specific setting I changed to correct
the problem. However, as Tim noted all fonts were downloaded to the
PostScript print files. They just were not being converted.

Good Luck with the problem.
