Hello Deron!

If I remember correctly the documentation of PageStream's
document format was released to the public before.
There is a simple word processor is developed for OS4 called
Cinnamon Writer.

http://desler.be/modules/wfchannel/index.php

I would like to recommend the author to investigate and use
PageStream's file format to store documents, however I can
not find it on the PageStream site.

Could you upload it or point me to to a link?

Kind regards

Hi Lazar.

The file format is documented at
http://www.pagestream.org/showdocs.php?id=1279! I found it with search,
but found out it was linked into the table of contents improperly. That
should be fixed now.

However, IFF DOC (the pagestream file format), is better suited to a DTP
program / drawing program than a word processor. Depending on the needs,
IFF CTXT (the text format used for PageStream articles) may be better
suited. It would be easy (and permisible within the IFF structure) to
extend CTXT to need most additional needs. In fact, merging some IFF DOC
chunks into CTXT to document a more "freeform" word processor format may
be a good mix. IFF DOC (the document level structure), ILUS (the page
level drawing structure) and CTXT (the text/article level structure) is
all documented there. It is a little out of date, but that is a simple
things to remedy if someone is actually going to use it.

Anyway, just ideas. The developer is welcome to contact me or simple
scan the documentation as they see fit.

Deron
