Here's a not-so-fine howdyado!

I needed to print out some envelopes so for the first time in several days I
tried to launch PageStream5 for Amiga. PageStream5 plain instead of the Pro
I've mostly been using lately because that's the only one I've put in my
dock, and it was supposed to be just a matter of loading the document and
printing.

Well, the first little window comes up and says "loading filters" and that's
as far as it goes! Had to do a warm reboot. Tried a couple more times,
running Snoopy with it once.

So I tried Pro. It gets the little windonw, and "Initializing." Need to
reboot. Run it again with Snoopy on.

I never know what to do with Snoopy output, but the last lines of the plain
version, that quit with "loading filters," that seem most relevant are
these--there is no further reference to PgS5:

In neither case did a Grim Reaper appear on screen, but a number of tasks
quit working.

These have both been working fine. This morning I installed
QuickFix_AmigaOne-53.8. I wonder if that could be the culprit?

Before I post this, I'll try a cold reboot.

...That didn't help. I noted that after PageStream5 crashed this time, I was
able to launch some applications from my dock, but not others. Shell
worked, and so did Calculator, Find, and MultiView. IBrowse, OWB, and YAM
just blinked their icons. FinalCalc pretended to launch, but came up with
nothing but a speckled screen. I wondered if FinalWriter would do the same,
but lost control of the mouse pointer as soon as I clicked on FW.

Am I going to have to address those envelopes by hand?

It's the QuickFix, I had to revert to the latest kernel to be able
to use PageStream (I only reverted the kernel file)

Hmm Whilst here with my Micro A1 and the quick fix it loads ok, only thing that is a problem is it will not load Jpegs now!!

comes up with a warning "JPEG parameter struct mismatch: library thinks size is 432, caller expects 464" But to be honest I can't remember if it done that before the quick fix, maybe its a datatype problem? (this is with pagestream 5.033 pro)
