Hello all,
Wondering if anyone might be able to help with a problem I've had with every Amiga release of 5.x, and which has now persisted into the new version 5.0.5.2.
To put it bluntly, I can't do anything at all with the program. I'm getting an immediate Guru. The personalize window partially appears and then crashes instantly. My guess is that it's choking on loading the little PageStream graphic (which doesn't display) since in previous versions it would also crash at the loading window (which also contains the aforementioned graphic) when I bypassed the personalize window by pre-setting my registration details in the prefs file. I'm using the 68K version. SnoopDOS hasn't revealed anything exciting, but Sashimi shows it to be failing at SL_DrawDisplayBitmap SCREENTYPE_TRUECOLOR (188,200)
Running it under OS4 and pumping up the stack gets me successfully past the personalization window and the script/extras install window, (with a bunch of recoverable alerts and Grim Reapers along the way) but nothing happens after that (we can write that off as a separate issue for now). Increasing the stack (even to 20MB!) on my 68K system has no effect - it still crashes.
Any ideas? I'd like to be able to experiment with all the neat new 5.x features!
Apologies if a solution to this has come up already - I haven't been paying much attention to the mailing list.
Thanks for any assistance,
-Matt
