Ok, update.

I closed STFax down, then ran PGS from CLI. Yes! After a very long time, I
finally got {GS to run! however, as I say, it took a vERY long time and the
miggy was very, very jerky and sluggish befor eit ran. Iwas also very slow
when it finally ran - I gave up waiting for a new page to appear.

I got the appdebug.txt file, around qtr megabyte in size. Would you like me
to send that to you?

Yes, I do have a modem connected to the serial port. is there any way to
have STFax (connected to the modem in the serial port) running when i want
to run PGS?

Bye for now,

How much deeper would the ocean be if sponges didn't grow in it?

As mentioned before, the large amount of debug output will negatively
effect the speed of PageStream.

No, I would need to know what the problem is first. If I can reproduce
the problem, then it is unnecessary.

It is probably not clear, but the answer is:

> You will need to run sashimi _always_ when running this version of PageStream and probably the next couple versions.

What this means is that PageStream is dumping debug output via the Amiga
debug output calls. By default, the Amiga sends that information to the
serial port. Sashimi is a program you can download from the Internet
which will let you redirect that debug output (not just PageStream's,
but all Amiga apps that use these calls) to someplace else.
