Hi!

Just finished uploading the latest Linux release (actually it was last
night!). Should fix the tips/registration problem, plus copy/paste objects,
tips, etc.

Fixed a number of buttons in edit palette/align dialog/etc that didn't toggle.
Add support for mouse scroll wheel.
Scrolls up/down. With shift key, scroll left/right.
With ctrl, zooms in/out by small amount.
With ctrl/shift, zooms in/out by factors of 2.
Fixed copy/paste of objects.
Toolbox is in proper order.
Fixed dialogs not getting timer events, which caused tips to not display and
initial licence screen to not be dismissable.
Toolbox/toolbar/widget tips now display. Not all are entered. Will take time!

For those who have problems with prefs not getting saved correctly, could
you try running PageStream from a shell and report back some of the output.
It should print a line for every bad pref items it detects, but who knows
if it even knows its Smile

Thanks!

Still not able to print at all.

After saving changes in prefs both max and min zoom is changed to 5%
(old problem, but still not in the to do list).

Many fonts listed twice in the fontlist.

Now it is not possible to change the document margins in the "New
document" window (and many more in the Prefs setup)!

Mandrake 9.1 running on the default KDE desktop.

Did you go to print setup? What do you see there? Is a CUPS PPD listed as
selected? Can you choose paper sizes etc?

Actually, it was, but I made a fix that supposedly fixed it. As previously
posted, if you have this trouble, please try and run PageStream from a
shell. It should provide some debug info to the shell when you try and save
prefs. It may generate lots of output, but I just need a sampling.

Obviously part of the above problem.

Yes I see the CUPS PPD and I can change papersize. When I try to print
it seems my printer is "coming alive" but after a few seconds it returns
to normal wait mode.

This is the output when I start Pagestream from a shell:

[anders@localhost Pagestream]$ PageStream4
name:Epson_Turbo instanceSadnull) (0)
option 0 name:job-sheets value:none,none
option 1 name:cpi value:10
option 2 name:lpi value:6
option 3 name:turboprint value:bt1x0u0
name:HP4MPlus instanceSadnull) (1)
option 0 name:job-sheets value:none,none
option 1 name:page-top value:36
option 2 name:page-bottom value:36

option 0 name:job-sheets value:none,none
option 1 name:cpi value:10
option 2 name:lpi value:6
option 3 name:turboprint value:bt1x0u0

When I open the Pref and change something there is no output at all but
next time I start both the min and max is set to 5 %.

Strange. I wonder if it really is a space that is between them. Could you
take a messed up pref file, compress it, and then email it to me at
support@grasshopperllc.com? I am checking for improper spaces, but maybe it
is some other character. Emailing it as a text file may cause it to be
modified, but compressing it first will make it unchanged. Thanks in advance!

The other output is from CUPS, and I forgot it was there Smile

Hmm. I'm not sure I understand who is causing this error. Of course, the
language barrier isn't helping any here Smile

A quick search of G_BROKEN_FILENAMES yielded this gem:

:The assumption of GLib and GTK+ by default is that filenames on the
:filesystem are encoded in UTF-8 rather than the encoding of the locale; The
:GTK+ developers consider that having filenames whose interpretation depends
Surprisedn the current locale is fundamentally a bad idea.
:
:If you have filenames encoded in the encoding of your locale, then you may
:want to set the G_BROKEN_FILENAMES environment variable:
:
: G_BROKEN_FILENAMES=1
: export G_BROKEN_FILENAMES
:
:Best integration of GTK+-2.2 with the environment is achieved by using a
:UTF-8 locale.

Could you configure print setup to save to disk, and then try and print a
file to disk? If something is created, can you email it to me?
