Hey Wink

I started the new version this morning, clicked open and chose a small
document that I had created on this machine with a previous version of
PageStream / linux. ( a picture and a couple of font samples). I
haven't added or deleted any fonts recently. I'm sure I've got more
fonts available than I really need.
(Athlon 2000xp, SuSE 8.1, kde3.1.4)

Bug report:

When the document opened the font substitution requester popped up
claiming that I needed to select font replacements for 2 fonts. This is
the first revision this has happened with. I've been using this same
document for at least the last 4 revisions (if not more) and it has
always opened fine.

Anyway I decided to try converting the 2 fonts that "weren't" available
("Belwe Lt BT Light" and "Venetian301 BT Italic") I found 2 fonts that
had very similar names and should have been close to drop in
replacements.
Clicked Ok.
SEGFAULT.

Tried again but instead of "Convert" I tried "Display As", clicked Ok.
SEGFAULT

Third try, I accepted default and the document opened, fonts not at all
like the ones originally used.

Problem report:

It took me more than 2 minutes using the dropdown to scroll to
Venetian301... from Aharani Bold, this is just not workable.
(Athlon 2000xp, SuSE 8.1, kde3.1.4)
The font chooser or a scroll bar HAS to be implemented in a way that
allows you to use the fonts that are available.

How can I be expected to write ransom notes if it takes forever to
select fonts that don't have names beginning with the letter "A". Wink

Fix not implemented yet report:

If I select pre typed text then use the "Type -> font -> choose" my
change will be accepted in the document as desired. If I create a text
box, then use the"Type -> font -> choose" menu, then focus is still not
returned to the document window but goes to the PageStream4 window as
described in a previous mail.

Window Save Positions still not 100% but getting better

Requests:

It would be nice to use the toolbar in Vertical mode without the extra
(empty) space to the right of the icons, Horizontal is ok as a
workaround but not ideal. This is related to the window gadgets issues
w/ kde that have been discussed previously.

Is support for .wmf (ms office clipart) files in our future? Sure would
be nice, I could wean my wife away from m$Publisher if this were
available.

Nothing like a new upload to get the mail list moving , is there?

Thanks for your efforts

Not just a font chooser with a scoll bar... but a font chooser that you can
do pattern matching, and filtering of font names. Smile

Get a ransom note font.... Smile Filled with odds and ends of cutout looking
typefaces. Yeah it will still take time to get to that font in your list... but
will save ya the effort of digging through your list for each new letter.. :O
