G´day all

Just dl´d latest.

Obviously haven´t had time yet to do any thorough testing but..
Cuppla observations:-

The line fill requestor problem still remains, the line and fill checkmarks
are permanently selected.

You can draw a border using the border tool but when you click on the Fx
button you get a crash (segfault) while the border window opens.

To refresh-- I am using Mandrake 9.1 and KDE (the version that comes with
Mandrake 9.1) Do you need any more specs than that?

Hopefully I might get time to do some other testing later.

Looks like we´re nearly there. (Hope so says Deron)

Yep. That kind of presents a problem...

Confirmed. However, TextFX doesn't. OTOH clicking cancel after applying an
effect only closes the TextFX window, it doesn't cancel the effect. The right
hand group of tools (the ones which alter the paths) don't seem to work
correctly (e.g., I didn't see any warping of text, only inappropriate
scaling).

SuSE 8.2, KDE 3, all updated using SuSE's updater.

Sorry, that was me. The problem is (it´s your fault Wink ) you are churning out
the updates faster than I can download and test.

I wish I could have been of more help but I guess every little bit helps.

Yea, I can't win. Someone on this list was early on asking for more
frequent releases. I hope they are happy at least Wink

Anyway, I hope you know I was just pulling your leg.

You have been a great help. I appreciate all the bug reports. I've got this
fillstroke bug fixed, plus borders crash, plus added passing of file names
on the command line.

If I don't see any other reports, I'll upload a new version, and a demo
version.

Already uploaded, already downloaded.

Specifying file on the commandline does not work. PgS hangs on startup. I'm
not sure the exact point, but it is before it opens up any additional windows
(e.g., the toolbar).

The stroke and fill are fixed here. Borders seg-fault fixed. Text scroll
seg-fault (as in, out-of-view column shifts) fixed.

Cool.

However, gotta go for now. More testing as time allows.

Hmm. Well, it was working here. Try a complete path just in case.

I expect over the next week or so for updates every couple days. For folks
who are happy with what they got, just hold on Smile

I haven´t yet downloaded this new version so can´t know if this has been fixed
or not -- in the navigator the funny symbols have re-appeared. Also the
mouse/pointer tool-tips says ¨Helpfull ...¨ unless this is a peculiarly
American spelling the Australian/British spelling is ¨Helpful¨.

The script I use to start PgS uses a full path. I didn't see it before .13 or
so, but then again I've been starting PgS more often back-to-back now. And I
don't know if its even PgS's fault that it hangs. And other than it happens
/about/ every fifth to tenth time I can't identify anything to cause it. I
try to remember to check processes to make sure PgS isn't sometimes leaving
something hanging around as I've seen this kind of behavior from other apps
if they weren't able to close cleanly.

Mostly I'm hoping that someone else has seen this and maybe something
reproducible can be worked out.

I'm gonna try to keep testing for bugs on whatever is current. Time allowing,
but with Christmas and all I'm going to have more time.

For instance, see tip 37 in version 4.1.6.15 -- the em-dashes are replaced
with boxes having the code 0097 in them. And 0093, 0094 for quotes, 0098 for
the en-dash.

And American spelling is "Helpful" -- sometimes I wonder about my eyes and why
I don't see all these things myself.

Actually, they never went away. The problem is font usage and special
characters in the text. I'll see if I can do something about that (or
remove the tips on using special characters Smile

Anybody got any new tips to add? The current list is getting a bit stale...

Opps. Well, tells you never to let a programmer try and write human
readable text. We just don't have it in us.
