There are two problems I just ran into and, to be honest, I'm not sure whose
at fault.

1. Font: I've mentioned font problems before. These range from fonts
displaying and going into PDF but all text in that font being dropped from
postscript output to on-screen misplacing of text in a font. Usually the text
is dropped significantly below where it should be, but the amount of
displacement depends on the view magnification. Up to now it prints in the
correct location, but text skips up and down. The most recent observation is
a capital V being dropped blow the line of the rest of the text, even though
they are all the same font. Other capital letters had correct placement.

2. Missing left vertical stroke. I noticed this this morning. Some frameless
text boxes have a light fill (6 to 12%) with a 100% black 1/2 point stroke
for the lines. Everything prints fine, except the left vertical stroke is
missing. My best guess at present is that it is being overwritten by the
light fill, but I haven't rigged the test for this just yet.

I'm not sure the last time I printed a document with the frameless text boxes
styled this way so I can't say for sure if it is SuSE 9.3 somehow at fault or
5.0.1.37. I've got older versions and will be testing with those, but has
anyone else had problems like this?

As far as the display issue, I've seen it also, but it seems to be coming
from FreeType. The baseline is constant, but the antialiased rendering
seems to be causing a visual warble. If you are talking about something
more drastic than a pixel difference, I haven't seen it.

This is a bug in that release. (well, I thought I had released a fix
already so would have guessed it was in .36, but maybe not).

This is *much* more extreme than a pixel wiggle: it ranges from 25% to 100% of
line height vertical offset. The amount of offset varies with magnification.
At first it seemed that zooming in always fixed it, but I've seen opposite
cases as well. But it (so far) always prints properly.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't in .36. Certainly it wasn't in the last version I
used much.

Hi,

I am using SuSE 9.2 with PGS 5.0.1.37 and still have printing problems.

1) I can never print directly to my cups printer, always aborts. (never worked
with any SuSE PGS combo I have tried)

1.1) I must print to file as postscript and then print to my cups printer

2) Printing worked OK until 5.0.1.37, but now there are "lines" missing, such
as the left side of a box, one side of a triangle, etc.

Here is a a recent printout...

Does anybody have any ideas? 5.0.1.36 worked fine....

Thanks

John

This error, that means, no. 2 (missing side)
