I just threw it into a home/PgS dir & clicked on bash start file & it
actually worked. The I brought over a windoz calendar template made yrs
ago & IT WORKED & printed!...Now if I can remember how PgS works, I'm
in business <giggle>.

My only complaint at the moment is having to run through at least 100
(maybe more, I have a font/type face fetish) to get to Tines regular.

Gracia,
I have over a thousand fonts, but Deron has already helped you two way (at
least in 2.10Pro):
1) In the PageStream5 (not the Edit Palette) Window selecting
Menu->Type->Font->Choose will bring up a selector box with a movable gadget
allowing quick moving to a font.
2) In the PageStream5 Window selecting
Menu->File->Preferences->Type->Attributes Edit->Font allows selecting "your"
preference for a default font.
I hope this helps some.

Actually no ;^)., though #2 at least made a sensible default font
available.

#1 was what I was complaining about...ENDLESS scrolling through my
revised estimate of close to 1000 fonts (and at least 15 more from P22
to be added). Very counter productive even with the use of just 3 or 4
different ones in one file!

I realize most of the supplied (SuSE + some programs) fonts are crap and
I hope to safely remove them soon.

Just to be clear, are you talking about scrolling through a popup menu or
through a scrolling list? Popup menus are tedious, but the list scroller
Deron has implemented speeds up getting to the font you want. It is the
double-right-guillemot button next to the popup menu in the edit palette. If
you don't like scrolling through that...

Tim is right, the Font Selector is not nearly as bad as scrolling through a
font popup.

This won't help you now, but I have been thinking about some way to extend
the new font prefs to allow grouping and turning fonts on and off. Just a
thought at this point to manage large collection of fonts.

My #1 brings up the same requester as >> after the font name in the Edit
Pallette, but the >> is MUCH easier to get to. I missed that one! I like
listing used fonts at the top, also. But grouping sounds GREAT. Also, if
not too costly, a symbol marking TrueType and Adobe fonts would be nice, but
not necessary. I don't know if the GhostScript fonts (.gsf I presume) appear
or not.
I do know that PageStream uses lots more of the available fonts than some
writer programs. Thanks, Deron!
