Is this possible to do for a PDF format in Pagestream? I didnt see an option anywhere, did find it in the postscript output. Will be sending that file to the shop we are using.

Easy to do by printing a PostScript file to disk, and then process to
PDF. for some details on printing seps:
http://www.pagestream.org/showdocs.php?id=110

Save as PDF does not have the print time features like mail merge,
separations, imposition, etc.

Yeah I had a little more time to look at the printing dialog/requestor/whatnot to find all the details. Just have to see what this print shop really needs now.

Thanks for the reply. Smile

Got to sit down without a deadline looming over me and worked out the troubles with. Now to recreate those steps to produce the desired output every time!
There are sill some issues regarding page orientation.
One item to note, in Okular (this is KDE 4.x's new multi format file viewer), there is an option to 'import Postscript as PDF' Smile success!
Odd that it views this correctly only this way, and........... It will save this as a PDF, so the spot color as a pdf file is solved now. 2x Smile.
Now I'm off to figure the page orientation issue...

WHOO HOO!!!!
I think i've found the trouble.. Smile

Seems Pagestream doesnt like imported graphics, when doing color separations.
The company logo that is imported from a png or tiff is was causes the trouble. (I have a feeling it is related to color space)
Now I fired up Krita as it can save out cmyk color space tiff, PGS cant handle 16 bit cmyk, so i tried 8 bit, cmyk, the file "loads" but the image doesnt show. Sad
Has anyone had similar issues??

Deron,
is there a solution for getting the spot separation for a graphic(s) not created in PGS, in the separations?

Was it a problem importing or a problem printing?

Not that I have heard.

I presume you mean placing a bitmap graphic on a plate besides the black
plate when doing a spot separation? In which case, select the picture,
and in Object -> Line & Fill choose the (spot) color for the picture.
The picture should change to a monotone in that (spot) color and should
print on the same plate that other objects in that color print on.

Do you mean in the Line/Fill dialog, in the Screen tab, select the plate color? then select something other than the default? like dot?
