Hello, now I cannot print my works because I cannot print by my HP990 as
told time ago and I cannot print using cups-pdf printer.
Save as pdf does non work in mai merge.

The only chance I have is to delete pagestream and use another program
since I have no other solutions to do the job.

can you save as Images and then print them?
so the internal save to PDF is not working with mail merge?

Hello Giovanni,

What version of PageStream are you using? Can you print to a postscript
file? (Print Setup -> Send To <PostScript File>)

How can I do that? Mail-merge is automatic I cannot choose single pages
to print.

> so the internal save to PDF is not working with mail merge?

I think no, it does not work. It works only with a multipage document.

hhmm
i did a work around but if you are using gnome there may not be an equivalent solution.
save as a postscript file, and use okular (a kde document viewer) to import the postscript as a pdf.
then save that from okular.

The old mail merge script could be modified to generate PDF files
instead of printing, but the mail merge is part of _printing_, not
saving a PDF. Not that it is not working. Same with exporting images.

Should be able to print multiple mail merge pages to a bitmap, but
printing to a postscript file would be much preferred and the same
interface.

I am using Pagestream 5.0.5.8 i386 on Ubuntu 10.10 distribution.
I can print ps file, but I cannot open it with ghostscript (segmentation
fault), evince the document viewer (stays forever waiting...) and Gimp
(cannot open)
I can instead open the document using Inkscape, but fonts are not those
I used.

Printing as bitmap works.
I printed as jpeg and reimported the one image to Pagestream.
The printed document is good and the position on the paper is good.
But I have to print 62 pages...

I reinstalled the ghostscript and the cups-pdf packages, but I still
cannot print on printers (PDF and HP)

That is something else all together. Sounds like a problem font, or
character set problem. Can you create a simple test page and get that to
print?

First, try just a box.

Then try the text "hello" in the font Arial, Helvetica, or Times Roman.

Then try the text "hello" in the font you are using in your document.

Also, if you want to send the postscript file that gives you trouble to
me at support@pagestream.org, I will take a look.
