I have tried to install this version a number of times and cannot get it to
open a screenl. HELP!!! It does seem to install okay (tried both custom and
standard) and BME does run fine. However, when I try to run PageStream it
only pops up the initial opening screen for a second and then closes. Any
advice appreciatedl. I am running W98, etc..

I think this is a symptom of decompressing the zip file with a different
program than winzip. I'm going to try compressing the next one with
powerarchiver. Hopefully that will fix this annoying little problem.

Until then, try decompressing with winzip (if you didn't.)

You say BME runs fine. Have you tried to do anything with it. I'm
running Windows 95 and
BME loads fine and looks good until I try to do any thing with the
picture it doesn't
resize the bottom of the picture is broken and distorted. The option to
send to editor from
pagestream does not work. I can only load from file.

Pagestream itself loads fine not usable yet. I think all the problems
I've had have been covered
in reports so I am eagerly waiting for next release.

The Amiga version of Pgs4r7 works almost flawlessly but rather slow on
the UAE Emulator.

Hi,

It sounds like you are having the same problem as me with PageStream For
Windows ... like you, I can only get the "Title Screen" to open for the
smallest of seconds ... repeated attempts to launch PS eventually result in
a dos window opening with the message

"error: could not create display handle"

Is this similar to your problem? Like you, I can get BME to launch, but I
have the same problems as Graeme with it's use.
