Hi,

This is for PGS 4.0C
System- PII 400 128MB ram, 20GB HD, Canon BJC-6000 on parallel port.
Win98 first release with all updates installed.

I'm using a Canon BJC-6000 (latest drivers). Pictures will not print in
either grayscale or color. I've tried placing the picture with and
without the "leave external box" checked to see if that affected it. Same
problem either way.

If I deselect "print pictures" the program does print a box with an x in
it that's the correct size.

I tried this with different picture formats (jpg, bmp, etc) to see if it
was a problem with the type of graphic- no change.

Also, the printing is offset. The print is 1/8" lower than the layout.

Last, files are saved with no file extension, so the files cannot be
associated with Pagestream and I have to go to "all files" under file
types to load them. (Backups are saved with the ".bak#" extension in the
correct folder.

Suggestion on the offset problem. People need to let you know if the
printer is connected to the parallel prt or the USB port so you can see
if a difference in offset occurs between these two.

Hello Sam,

I have a Canon BJC6500 also with the latest drivers and I get all the
same problems as you do.
Indeed I have been in contact for some time with Deron about this
matter.
Every other program accepts and prints the graphics that PGS 4.0.8c
does not.

I was beginning to think that I was the only one having these
troubles,
I've been printing by using the pdf export facility.

Not entirely satisfactory.

Hmmm. . . I wonder if the fact that I get the same thing on my Canon
2100USB is an indicator of problems with Canon drivers/printers in
general. (graphics print on my Canon 8000 parallel, but wrong size and
position.)

This wouldn't explain the total lack of printing with my Epson Stylus
Color, or the upside down graphics on the TI Poscript laser. But niether
4.0r8c (for you) or the update file (for me) seems to get this going
yet.

Any clues here, Deron?? Every windoze system I've tried it on so far is
Win98 with a minimum 64 megs of Ram with an Intel 166, up to 192 megs
with an AMD K6II 500. .

Your the second BJC owner to report PageStream not printing bitmaps. Anyone
else having a similar problem? I can print bitmaps all day!

Is this what people want on Windows? It would be pretty easy on my part to
force the extension on to the end.

Can you try your Epson with a US paper size? I think that might be part of
the problem. Let me know what you find out. Thanks!

I've been able to verify upside down pictures to postscript. Don't ask me
why. Doesn't make any sense to me...

OK. Created a simple page with two lines of text in Blacklight font at
24 pts. Created two graphics from within PgS with color line and fill
attributes.

Tried it first at A4. It printed the first line of text but nothing
else. Switched page setup and printing prefs to US Letter and got the
same first line of text but nothing else. Switched page setup and
printing prefs to US legal and also got the same results.

When I switched the settings to US Letter and tried to print it from the
Canon 8000 I got the whole page in beautiful detail, but as usual,
shrunk to about 25% and printed in the upper right corner.

Good luck!

Paul

BTW, Amiga 8c seems to be doing everything wonderfully, so far, although
the install script didn't work trying to install it to a fresh
directory. It went fine when I installed on top of my r2 installation.
(the missing directories problem, I believe.)

Deron,

Oops. Sorry. Make that "upper left".

Mmore than being an option people want, this is a necessary function that
PGS HAS to implement. When I try to load a file, the load window says
it's looking for files with the PGS extension- so no files are diplayed.
This would upset every new pagestream user in windows trying PGS out for
the first time. Their first reaction would be- "Where are all my
files??!!"

Yes- you MUST force the extension onto the files.
