Could you explain what your are doing? Are you using Find/Change Attributes? Select All in a multi-page article?

Actually, the case doesn't matter A or a is align. So if you have caps lock down, it doesn't matter. What does matter is if the shift key is down or not.
I just tried it, and shift-d is distribute, and d is duplicate. Does anyone else have this problem? I suppose I need to know more information

What is a floating text frame? I can create text frames with the column tool and layout->create text frames and they both allow me to enter text.
