A long standing problem with PDF generation is the fact that cropped
images get uncropped when the PDF file is created. This usually
results in overwritting of adjacent text, such as a figure caption.
This problem has been around since 4.0 and appears to be replicated
in 5.0. Of course, one can work around this bug by cropping images
outside of PageStream, but it would be nice if this got fixed someday.

I hate to sound like a broken record and a shill for a commercial
product, but since you're using a PC there is a fairly inexpensive
answer for this problem. Here's the link:
http://www.docu-track.com/index.php?page=1. The lite version will do the
job for you, I think. It's much faster than Adobe (almost as fast as
PageStream) and it will handle your cropped pictures, font attributes,
arrowheads, and nearly all that other stuff that hasn't been addressed
yet in the native PDF translator.
