I tried it and it generated a .ps file very quickly. My printer is not
on your list of xerox printers. I have a Xerox DocuPrint N17.
How do I print the file I create? Using distiller I did not get a good
image of the document in the PDF file.

Hi!

To find the PPD, just go to google and enter "Xerox DocuPrint N17 PPD"! The
file is a text file and can come from any computer platform. Usually if you
go to the printer manufacture web site you can get the PPD file from them.
Also, many times it is included on a disk that came with the printer. If
you can't find a PPD for your specific printer, you can try an older PPD
for a xerox printer. Finally, if that is not true, for 99% of the printers
out there you can simply choose the .general one. No harm will come from
trying the wrong one. Worst it will do is not print.

Can you tell me, if you choose "Windows" from the Printer popup at the top
of the Print Setup dialog box, what does it say for the name of Printer?
Does it include (PostScript) or (Bitmap) at the end?

If it says (PostScript) (and it should!), then (re)choose <PostScript File>
from the Printer popup at the top. Now you will have an option called "Send
To". Simply select "Printer" there, as well as choosing a PPD. It should
now print directly to your printer, by passing 99% of Windows in the
process Wink
