Hi:

This is probably a know issue, but discretionary hyphens are not showing
up in the output. It's something I can fix in my PDF viewer, but I don't
know whether it's an issue separate and apart from other disappearing
acts that Save as PDF does, or something that will go away when matters
otherwise mentioned are addressed.

No, I'm not aware of any disappearing acts in the latest releases other
than those few documented oddities. I'll check it out.

Sorry. The phrasing was presumptuous on my part. I haven't used the
feature for years inasmuch as I've been using earlier releases dating to
before major improvements were made. I said it because I vaguely
remembered comments about this thing or that still not working.

From an earlier post to me:

> Your problem with the font dialog has been reported several times on the
> list for this new version and is nothing new.

I'm one of the people who reported or confirmed that particular bug.
However, my comment in the original post you're replying to here
concerned a slightly different version of the issue that only occurred
*for me* when using the "Show Font" button from within the Drop Caps
paragraph option. I was able to reproduce it this morning, but since
then it's been working the way it works everywhere else. It could be
because in the meantime I had printed the document using an older
version of PageStream. As it turned out, that solved another Drop Cap
issue that I was going to report. The resaved file now works as expected
in the new beta as well.

In short, I can't reproduce the variation. This doesn't surprise me. I
expected that the root cause would be identical and that, therefore,
fixing the problem we've all been seeing with "Show Fonts" will fix this
special case as well to the extent that it crops up at all.

Come to think of it, I can't _easily_ reproduce the missing hyphen thing
either because I made extensive changes to the document itself and
there's no place left where there would be a convenient discretionary
hyphen.

All in all, this release looks more and more like it's going to be a keeper.
