Trying to convert a file to PDF on my old laptop running XP, and PS 5.0.4.4, I found that wherever I was using two layers of text (white over black) to achieve shadowing for titles, in the PDF the two elements changed size...one was always bigger than the other, destroying the effect. I was NOT having this problem on my Vista machine running PS 5.0.4.34, so I decided I'd just move the files to the new laptop. That's when I discovered I was missing a font (Korinna BT (TT), so I just copied the font file from one laptop to the other. That didn't work...PS refuses to recognize that the new font exists, even though I can easily access it with other word processors such as Open Office Writer, or MS Excel.

How do I get PS to re-read what fonts are available???

if PageStream is getting the fonts through a font path added via
File->System Prefs->Fonts, then you need to go back to that dialog and
select the font path and pick Update and then Save.

Would need more info on the PDF issue to help, but if you are using 2
different fonts that would be a problem even if both fonts are available.

Also you were using a newer PGS (5.0.4.34) to get that effect, than you
are now trying to achieve.
Normally it shouldn't make that difference, but the output in PDF (in
PGS itself: File->Save as PDF...) has changed since that and is far
better than in PGS 5.0.4.4. Now I don't know if the handling of fonts
changed with that also, but that could also make a difference.
