I downloaded PgS4.0r7 (Amiga, full version) on Wednesday; LZ said it was
skipping some corrupted files, but the installer didn't seem to have
any problems with it.

The program runs normally, but I noted that the problem involving
PostScript output of text with applied outline style, either
via Type/Line and Fill, Type/Style or the Outline button in the
Edit palette, had not been fixed -- and still resulted in a guru or
hangup.

But Saturday, Uffe Holst reported that he had no problem printing
a document with outline fonts (I assume he meant conventional fonts
with applied outline, not fonts originally designed as "hollow").

So I thought perhaps the "nh" version of PgS4.0r7 may have had a later
PostScript.printer module than the one in the "full" version
(1.0p Beta.1). Since yesterday, I have tried at least 6 times to
download the "nh" version of the program; every time the
download proceeds at a snail's pace (up to several minutes between
packets), with average throughput of 200-300 cps. And somewhere about
200k to 500k into the download, the system drops out altogether,
leaving me still connected to my ISP, but with the d/l terminated.
Sheesh! I give up!

Question: Is the "outline vs. PostScript" problem fixed in the "nh"
version of PgS4.0r7 (Amiga), or is this all a misunderstanding?

What I mean is that I highlight some text with the mouse and then
click the 'outline' button in the Edit palette.

I have today made a document with some outline text, and it prints
just fine. I am by the way using a HP 6MP PostScript printer.

I downloaded the full archive, and my PostScript.printer reports:

PostScript 1.0p Beta.1 (1998/08/27)

considering the date of the file, it does not sound like this file
is the culprit, since there was no problems with r3 as far as I
remember.

Thats Funny, I had to Add the Graphics and Text Drawers to get the Installer to work.

Well, having just got back from a weekend away, I downloaded the full archive
and tried to install it. I had an error report saying that a drawer could not
be found and the contents could not be copied. I finished it all manually.

I made a new page with an outline and a fill of different colours and printed
it. No problem!

So, I reloaded an old document which caused the guru and printed that! No
problem ;)

So, I don't know where the problem lay but I agree with Uffe that it is now a
squished bug ;)

Thanks Deron ;))

I don't know actually. See my previous note. However, if that is the
problem, I'll post the library on the web page as well so you don't have to
download the full version again.
