Reason for the "testing" is that I'm getting two copies of every message that pertains to PageStreamSupport. One comes in RTF format and the other is plain Ascii. A few minutes ago I was at that Yahoo joint, I despise Yahoo with a vengence, trying to figure out how to stop the double dose. I thought I had left, departed, buggered off from PageStreamSupport at Yahoo, but that has not occurred. I have this mailbox at Yahoo, something like

fergdc@yahoo.com

Do I have to maintain that mailbox in order to send/receive information re PageStreamSupport?

I don't want to unsubscribe from my @Shaw.ca mailbox where the PageStreamSupport messages are sent.

I hope someone can give me a clue because I'm clueless on this one. Thanks.

Well Don,

I am not receiving double posts and I hope it stays that way.
I went to Yahoo and to Edit Membership.

At Step 1. I have only one email address.
At Step 2. I have selected individual email.
At Step 3. I selected traditional.

I hope this helps.

I only go to Yahoo to see if I posted something (I get no return from my
own mail), or if there has been days without any PGS post.
That is all I do on Yahoo...

I don't think you need that mailbox. I receive PageStream messages and i don't

Somehow, one must overcome Yahoo! Smile

I don't even do that -- normally, and that may be the problem. Yahoo has complained to me about not visiting something --- the mailbox?? --- for six months and would therefore put me to the lash. No lashing so far.

Is this the problem maker?
I'd lied a bit about having one mail address at Yahoo.
I have two, one from my former provider (not Yahoo) which I deselected.
And the present one.
So basically I have one mail address (and it's not Yahoo!).

Now yours.
You tried to get rid of the Yahoo mail address. In a way I can see why
you can't delete or deselect a Yahoo mail address on Yahoo.
Is it possible for you that you deselect the other one? And see what is
happening...

It's almost Christmas time, I think you are of the hook for a couple of
weeks. Wink

But if they do, then Deron (PGS!) will withdrawn all from Yahoo. And I
will never return on any Yahoo site! (And Yahoo sees this mail at least
triple times. Once, when I send it to them, and twice when they send it
to you, Don).

Hi Theo,

With today's download of mail messages re PageStreamSupport, I think, I imagine, I hallucinate that the "two messages" problem has been avoided!! The last two messages came in as singles, and, so far, I've not been bared from sending messages to PageStreamSupport.

I believe that it was and for the following reasons.

After much suffering at Yahoo's den of inequity, I concluded that, somehow, I was registered under two instances of EXACTLY THE SAME Email address and EXACTLY the same user id. Supposing that to be the case, I argued --- with infallible logic --- that if I were to unsubscribe one of them, then the other would remain and only one message would appear at my door. So I tried the bit about sending a blank Email message addressed to <PageStreamSupport-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com>. I set up the message and told Mail.app to send it off! NO whooooosh! NO bloody whooooosh! NO entry in the SENT mailbox!! Dazzled by Mail.app's impudence, I returned to Yahoo.com and stumbled around. I reached the point of extreme anger, call it "Yahoo Rage", and was about to carry out highly destructive acts on nearby property when I was saved by a phone call from a friend. She was able to calm me down, I stopped swearing and uttering threats, and then realized it was time to leave for an appointment -- to meet she.

A few minutes ago, I asked Mail.app to download mail, I do things the clumsy manual way. WHOOOOOSHHHHH! What in hell, I had asked for no whoosh, but on looking in SENT there were TWO of those unsubscribe messages. Well ..... this iMac machine is much too sophisticated for a young lad like me to figure out, so I'll just wait and see if this message gets through. If it does, then this 'Testing' tragedy will have come to an end.

When at Yahoo I am transformed into a blundering, stumbling, totally incoherent and incompetent idiot! Some would assert this was a normal condition.

Apparently, so it seems, there is a mailbox <fergdc@Yahoo.com> which is somehow related to me. Suspect I'm to blame for responding to one of Yahoo's threats, but I'm not sure. But it was the TWO instances of <fergdc@shaw.ca> that caused the problem, or so I believe.

Your girlfriend does a better job then.

Luckily PGS doesn´t have that effect on you. PGS is also Zen for you, is

Not quite at ease here. Last evening I signed off with a smug attitude, convinced I had straightened everything out. A couple of Email messages were sent to unsubscribe, hoping to get rid of all accounts at Yahoo. After confirming the un-subscriptions, I prepared an Email for PageStreamSupport and sent it off. As expected, Yahoo replied that I could not do that because I was not subscribed to PageStreamSupport. Good! So I subscribed again! That only takes a blank Email without a visit to Yahoo. After confirming the subscription, I tried sending the same message to you, and Yahoo did not complain. Figured I had it made and so signed off!

So today I downloaded my mail confident that only one copy of each PageStreamSupport message would arrive. WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT??? TWO messages again! AaaaahhhhHH! But you noticed the difference! "Don C" versus "Don Green"! Somehow I subscribed both my 'older' mail address as well as my newer Shaw one. This time I cannot blame Yahoo, although, if I were a responsible citizen, I would. After more unsubscribing, I'm confident once more that only one message will come down the tube. However, this being Sunday, things are rather quiet and no more mail is arriving from PageStreamSupport. So I'll send this off, and we'll see what happens.

How true! But I've never been that impressed with the "Zen of the Mac". Perhaps it is my Amiga'ish background that causes the problem, but some things on the mac are so clumsy it is absurd! Example? Changing the name of a directory or file! There is no such menu item as RENAME and the mac interaction is 'supposedly' easier but I find it frustrating and slow. However, overall I'm satisfied because I spend very little time now fooling around with the operating system. Most of Mmy time is spent --- when not stumbling around at Yahoo --- working with application programs that I want to use. Like PageStream! Smile

> Luckily PGS doesn´t have that effect on you. PGS is also Zen for you, is it not?

PageStream is a wonderful program and I've spent many hundreds of hours working with it, mainly on an Amiga until I bought the iMac about 1.5 years ago. Now that printing seems to work well --- even to my fancy-ass, new Epson printer --- I'll be doing more work with PageStream. At least that is my anticipation. I've not yet given PageStream and the Epson a serious workout, but that should be coming soon.
