Hi All,

Martin brought up the topic which I had not noticed.

I'm printing from PageStream 5.0.5.8 with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on a Mac and using the PageStream option <Use system Printing>.

The two printers are a HP laserjet and an Epson inkjet. The print queues show that the Epson is in the state "Printer Ready" while the HP is "Printer offline. Paused". The Epson is the default printer. I ask PageStream to print the current doc to the Epson. Both print queues receive a print job. That's crazy!

I turn the power to the Epson off. The Epson print queue says "Printer offline". Good! So both printers are powered off. Ask PageStream to print the current doc to the HP printer. The Epson wants to know what to do with the print job. I choose "Add to Queue" since I know it cannot print it. However, NO job is sent to the Epson while TWO jobs are sent to the HP. The HP jobs are waiting for the HP to wake up, hence unless I 'Delete' then or put them "On Hold" they will print as soon as I turn the HP on three days from now, having forgotten that there are jobs waiting in the queue. As usual, the first job in the HP queue is named 'untitled'. Do I know that both jobs will produce the exact same output? No! But that's what happened when I was not as wise.

The question is: Why is PageStream communicating with a print queue that is not related to the job at hand?

What would happen if both printers were online and I send a print job off? I don't even want to know! Smile

However, the good news is that I finally dared to send my 46.8 MB PageStream file to the Epson. The results were spectacular! Wow!!
